Current Studies

Telehealth Sleeping Sound

Telehealth Sleeping Sound Autism is a research study run by Monash University, which aims to evaluate a brief behavioural sleep intervention delivered via telehealth, to see whether it improves sleep difficulties, wellbeing and daily functioning for autistic children. There is early evidence that this program can improve sleep in autistic children.

We want to hear from parents of autistic children without intellectual disability, aged 5-12 years, living in Australia.

If eligible to participate and randomly allocated to the intervention group, you and your child will receive two free telehealth sessions and a follow-up phone-call with a trained clinician.

AllPlay Learn Professional Learning Evaluation

Victorian early childhood educators and primary and secondary school teachers are invited to enrol to AllPlay Learn’s free online professional learning courses Inclusive Foundations for Children with Disabilities. A series of evaluation and reflection questions before, during and after completing each lesson will help us understand changes to educators/teachers’ knowledge, confidence and competence when enhancing their existing knowledge and inclusive practices through the professional learning courses. Participants’ feedback will also assist to improve the course for future learners and increase our understanding on how the course is being used.

Bringing AllPlay Footy to the AFL community: Coaching Attitudes Towards Inclusion Scale Development

AllPlay Footy is being embedded into the Australian Football League’s (AFL) platforms, giving coaches and volunteers access to the tools and resources, and online disability training to support the inclusion of children with disability.

Our AllPlay Footy team are also looking to develop a coaches’ attitudes survey, which focuses specifically on children on the autism spectrum without complex support needs (i.e., without significant intellectual, psychiatric or motor disability) and Australian rules football. This survey will help us evaluate our online disability training.

AFL footy coaches and volunteers are invited to take part in an interview and survey about coaching a young person (aged 5-14 years) on the autism spectrum without complex support needs in their footy programs.

If you would like further information or have any questions, you are encouraged to contact the researchers via allplay-research@monash.edu

Strengthening Inclusive School Communities

Australian school students with a learning plan (and/or their parents) and Australian primary and secondary school teachers, are invited to participate in AllPlay Learn’s Strengthening Inclusive School Communities project. This online survey explores the involvement of students in planning for their learning and support. The survey includes diverse response formats to ensure that all students can participate. The survey responses will inform the development of resources for students, families and schools that support the voice and active involvement of students in learning and support planning.
